Generation of women have in many Swedish home woven beautiful rag-rugs. The art of weaving has been passed from generation to generation. A truly, handwoven Swedish rag-rug is made from pieces of leftover fabrics. The softer and more worn the bits of fabric are, the harder the weaver may rhythmically beat the boom the carpet get strong, sturdy and durable in structure.
Lars Hofsjö has a special relationship to the rhythmic beats – he remembers how he as a child was sitting next to his mother’s large loom, listening to the soothing sounds of the warp and the front of the machine that played , observed how colorful pieces of cloth were woven in and took form of beautiful mats.
Unique numbered tables:
To produce Torp Lars Hofsjö has looked for rag-rugs in markets, antique shops and all around the countryside. He has especially been looking for the right feeling, quality and color of the rag-rug. He meticulously hand-picked the thin and tight but especially the well-made crafts, taking care of them and carefully wrapped them around aluminum.
Each rag-rug is unique and so is also all the tables: unique and genuine.
